Political Feminism for Social Justice

Gender equality is a core value of social justice and therefore an essential part of FES programmes.

Motivated by the quest for social justice, 20 colleagues from FES offices in Asia, will meet in Bangkok from 24-25 September 2016 to develop focus areas and implementation strategies of the regional project “Political Feminism in Asia.

” Embarking on a search for a strategy to successfully address feminist concerns in the region beyond technocratic approaches, the project aims at activating the enormous potential for transformation of dynamic feminist movements in Asia.

The workshop will also provide an overview of the current trends in feminist debates by reviewing existing FES activities and studies of the participating FES offices in Bangladesh, China (Shanghai), India, Indonesia, Pakistan, the Philippines and Thailand.
