*Shiva meaning “The Auspicious” is one of the three major deities of Hinduism. He is the chief within Shaivism, one of the three most influential denominations in contemporary Hinduism. Parvati is the wife of the Hindu god Shiva.
She is goddess of fertility, love and devotion; as well as of divine strength and power. Ardhanarishvara is a composite androgynous form of the Hindu god Shiva and his consort Parvati (also known as Devi, Shakti and Uma in this icon).
Ardhanarishvara is depicted as half male and half female, split down the middle. Narad is a Vedic sage, famous in Hindu traditions as a traveling musician and storyteller, who carries news and enlightening wisdom.
