The Human Economy

On the social democratic path to decent livelihoods and development in digital capitalism

In the digital economy of tomorrow, machines will do many things human workers used to do. How can the displaced workers earn a living?

Putting the creation of livelihoods front and centre, the Human Economy is composed of two interwoven economies. The digital capitalist economy, which generates the surplus needed to remunerate work for the common good. And the human commons, which produce the consumption demand needed to keep the market economy going. The Human Economy prepares the ground for the social contract for the digital society: to provide full capabilities to everyone who is willing to contribute to the common good.
